The MDF siding is less expensive than traditional wood siding & when finished, looks just like wood. Plus it doesn't splinter or require much, if any, sanding!
Choosing the width of each "lap", or individual wooden strip is really about personal preference. This 3/8" lap is a good choice for 1/12 scale buildings.
